المجموعة الثالثة لبطولة الكونفدرالية، يتواجد فيها بيراميدز وفيوتشر بجانب كل من الجيش الملكي المغربي، وأسكو كارا التوجولي.

فيوتشر حل ضيفاً على أسكو كارا في توجو، واستطاع أن يعود بنقطة بعد التعادل الإيجابي بهدف لمثله.

On a gloomy day at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Punjab became the first team to take the first-innings lead against Karnataka this season. Mayank Sidhana’s second half-century of the match, and bad light that ended play more than an hour early made a draw the likeliest result as Punjab ended the day nearly 200 ahead with only three wickets down.The odds on the draw were even shorter than the scoreline suggested, as Karnataka lost two of their frontline bowlers to injury – S Aravind struggling with a knee problem, and Stuart Binny having hamstring trouble after completing his second century of the season. Robin Uthappa came into the match as a batsman, but had a surreal day in which he first shared the new ball and then took over as wicketkeeper after the specialist gloveman CM Gautam went off with a bruised foot.Karnataka began the day with only a slim chance of overhauling Punjab’s first innings total, but with overnight pair of Binny and Gautam starting with a bunch of boundaries, the chase was on. Gautam reached his fifty with a cut behind point and Binny moved into the 90s with a six over long-on. Left-arm spinner Rajwinder Singh snapped the stand with Karnataka still 139 behind, getting Gautam lbw with a delivery that stayed low.Binny reached his hundred with a sharp run to point – raising both hands in celebration even as he began the single – but Punjab hit back with the second new ball. Fast bowler Harmeet Singh struck three times, including the wicket of Binny for 119, as Karnataka lost their final four wickets for nine runs, to give Punjab a crucial 76-run lead. If this game ends in a draw, as seems probable, Punjab will get three points which will be vital in a tight race for the third and final qualifying spot – four teams are currently separated by one point.Like Karnataka, Punjab’s top order made a wobbly start. Karnataka’s only fit quick bowler, NC Aiyappa – playing his first match in three years – bowled Ravi Inder Singh for 2, before Sarul Kanwar was run out and Karan Goel chipped a catch to mid-off leaving Punjab at 32 for 3.If Karnataka briefly had hopes of a glorious turnaround, they were crushed by Sidhana’s attacking innings. A flurry of driven fours from Sidhana took him to 50 off 73 deliveries, as he dominated in an 87-run stand with Uday Kaul. Kaul was more subdued, surviving several loud appeals for lbw.Barring some major drama on the final day, Karnataka will end up being second best in a Ranji match for the first time this season. But with qualification more or less guaranteed, it won’t affect them as much as the news that they will be without their main fast bowler, Aravind, for four weeks.

-No foi da maneira que eu queria entrar com ele (Jefferson) se lesionando. Mas goleiro tem que esperar preparado. Entrarnum jogo assim é muito mais difícil. Procurei me manter concentrado e colocar me prática tudo o que tenho feito nos treinos – comentou, antes de elogiar preparadores de goleiros que o moldaram até aqui:

– Flávio Tênius (dos profissionais) é uma pessoa boa, um preparador muito bom, como o Jorcey também. Ele me passou tranquilidade ali, falou para eu fazer tudo que faço nos treinos, tudo que eu sabia que ia dar tudo certo. Deu tudo certo. Agora é ficar focado para o próximo jogo – continuou.

O próximo jogo, como citado por Saulo, será diante da Chapecoense, nesta quinta-feira, às 19h30 (de Brasília), no Nilton Santos. No embate, será novamente titular, uma vez que, como reforçado por Anderson Barros, gerente de futebol, Jefferson só deve retornar aos treinos em dez dias.

Barros, aliás, fez questão de enaltecer a confiança que a diretoria e a comissão técnica têm em Saulo, terceira opção para a meta alvinegra – Gatito Fernández, cabe destacar, só retornou aos treinos com luvas no último sábado.

– É um menino que tem nos mostrado no dia a dia da sua qualidade. Parece do Flavio Tênius é fundamental. São sempre elogios. Fiquem tranquilos que o Saulo está pronto. Já falamos disso quando o Jefferson tratava da aposentadoria. Flavio sempre nos disse: “O Saulo está pronto”. O Botafogo pode ficar tranquilo se o Saulo tiver que ficar por algum tempo – disse Barros, em entrevista coletiva realizada na última segunda-feira.

Hoje preparador de goleiros da base do Vasco, Gerson Rios foi outro profissional específico da posição que trabalhou com Saulo, nos juniores. Ao LANCE!, destacou a capacidade de Saulo em participar da posse de bola com os pés, algo que Gerson aponta como diferencial no futebol moderno.

– O Saulo teve um desempenho muito bom quando ganhou a oportunidade no sub-20, com a saída de Douglas, que era o titular. Ele tem uma personalidade muito grande e encaixou como uma luva no nosso time, campeão carioca (2014). Ésuper trabalhador e tem, na minha visão, o seu jogo com os pés como grande virtude,pois considero que o futebol mundial está cada vez mais propício ao goleiro como integrante no sistema de jogo da equipe. É um goleiro que o futebol moderno pede – contou Gerson, que ficou no Bota de 2010 a 16.

But when Somerset finally set course for the west country tonight several hours after sealing a stunning victory with nearly five sessions to spare, they did so safe in the knowledge that survival is once again in their own hands.Marcus Trescothick and his team were reluctant to tear themselves away from the home of cricket, wishing to savour an innings victory – their first in a Championship fixture at Lord’s since 1983 – for as long as possible.”You never get tired of playing here,” Trescothick said. “So we’re not shooting off too quickly because we want to hang around and enjoy what we’ve achieved.”What Somerset had done, in simple terms, was to lift themselves out of the relegation places. And with home fixtures to come, starting next week, against first Derbyshire and then Surrey – the two sides below them – before finishing the campaign at Trent Bridge, top flight status is now theirs to lose.The mood was entirely different, of course, in the other dressing room at Lord’s. Middlesex’s title challenge, which looked so potent before last week’s shock defeat in Derby, is now all but over. Bar one session on the first day when we lost a few wickets and put ourselves under pressure we were pretty clinical throughout so I’m delighted.”Trescothick acknowledged that his team’s first innings fightback from 211 for 7 had been vital. “To end up with 450 was huge because the pitch was nibbling around a bit,” he said. “And then our bowlers were outstanding and we asked their batsmen a lot of questions.”Lewis Gregory has been taking the new ball in the second team and bowling nicely and we know with Craig Meschede that when he gets on a wicket that seams about a bit he can be lethal and rip through teams.””What we have to do next week against Derbyshire is get ourselves back into this frame of mind because if we play like this we can beat anyone. That’s our challenge.”As for Middlesex, this is not the first time they have lost back-to-back Championship matches – they did so against Yorkshire and Warwickshire in mid-summer. But falling to Derbyshire last week and now disintegrating against Somerset will surely prove a double too far when it comes to trying to capture the title.In some ways, they have done well to get this far into the race without slipping away because much of their batting has been suspect all season. Joe Denly has made it beyond fifty just three times with Dawid Malan failing to reach even that small milestone while averaging in the mid-teens.Neil Dexter did make a century, against Sussex, but has not added to it and No. 6 John Simpson has a best of 97 not out but not much else to write home about.”We batted very poorly in both innings – to be bowled out twice in a day on a surface like that is unacceptable,” said Fraser. “Everybody knows that. We don’t have to go ranting and raving. What you hope is that it is a one off and the challenge is to make sure that next week we play a lot better and the players show the character to come through and bat as we know they can.”

Em jogo no qual teve de driblar sua ansiedade dentro da área, o Flamengo derrotou o Madureira por 2 a 0 e, na noite desta terça-feira, pela quinta rodada da Taça Rio, assegurou sua vaga para as semifinais do Campeonato Carioca de maneira antecipada.

Embora tenha obtido a vaga às semis, o Rubro-Negro ainda tem um desafio na Taça Rio. A equipe assume a liderança provisória do Grupo C, com 11 pontos, mas pode ser ultrapassada nesta rodada, pois Cabofriense e Bangu ainda jogam.

O Flamengo não demorou a mostrar fôlego para atacar. Após cruzamento de Pará aos 25 segundos, Bruno Henrique cabeceou e Júnior Lopes salvou em cima da linha. Rodrigo Caio fez Douglas se desdobrar para defender e, na sobra, Gabigol, sem qualquer marcação, cabeceou para fora.

Coube ao faro de Gabigol brilhar para consolidar o amplo domínio rubro-negro no Maracanã. Após investida de Renê, o camisa 9 deixou Arlen para trás e encheu o pé. Australia’s former coach Mickey Arthur has revealed the tourists planned to inflict damage and gain intelligence on England in the away series before pushing hardest to regain the Ashes in the return bout at home. He also said the 3-0 scoreline would not have changed irrespective of selections because “that is what we’ve got at the moment”.While the new coach Darren Lehmann had stated before the series that his objective was simply to “win, win, win”, there had been some suggestions that Cricket Australia would be content with a competitive showing in England, provided the home matches would reap a winning result. Arthur confirmed that he and the captain Michael Clarke had been talking in terms of using the first series to prepare for the second.”We had a goal that I will reveal. We wanted to try to push England really hard in England, but we wanted to win in Australia, this is what Michael and I wanted to do,” Arthur told ABC Radio. “We didn’t go into the series ever to lose it, but we wanted to develop enough intelligence on all the England players, we had a lot but there was going to be some current stuff we could use.”We were going to really push them close, give the players in our team the confidence to see that England could get beaten, and then go for them in Australia. That was how we wanted to go about our escapade there. You could have put anybody in [the team], the results were going to be the results because that is what we’ve got at the moment. That is the current crop of players. But as coaches it’s such a good challenge because there’s so much unfulfilled potential that you can make better.”Arthur was not the only senior CA figure pushing this view before the start of the series, and some players are understood to have been taken aback by the attitude when they assembled together in Bristol before the tour officially began. It remains to be seen whether the current leadership of Clarke and Lehmann have managed to glean enough from this series to help them at home.Looking back on his time as coach, a period ended suddenly in England before the Ashes tour and then played out acrimoniously in a legal battle with CA over severance payments, Arthur said a 4-0 defeat in India and its associated disciplinary problems had been a major blow. For that he cited the BCCI’s desire to avenge an identical series ledger in Australia in 2011-12, duly preparing pitches to suit the purpose.”India was a really tough tour for us in so many ways. I’ve been privileged to tour India a couple of times and those were the worst conditions that I’d ever seen,” Arthur said. “They hijacked us, and they clearly wanted revenge for the 4-0 series win we had got when they toured here the last time.”One goes back to the Perth Test where the wicket was green and we played to our strengths and won the Test in two and a half days. They clearly wanted retribution for that and produced some of the toughest conditions I’d ever seen. They went out of their way to prepare those conditions and I can’t argue with that.”Despite the circumstances of his departure, Arthur said he had been watching the Ashes series very closely. Too closely, perhaps, for members of his family, who had asked him why he could not let it go. “I’ve been watching every ball of the Ashes,” he said. “My family has been saying ‘let it go’ and I can’t. I’ve spent too much time with these boys trying to make them better cricketers, I’ve got to watch it.”I am talking to the television. The funny thing as a coach is with a trained eye and knowing the psyche of all the players, I can sit and watch something developing and know what’s going to happen an over later. I’m going ‘don’t do that again, keep hitting straight, they’re trying to set you up for the lbw … keep hitting straight, oh across the line, damn lbw again’.”

– Foi uma grande vitória fora de casa. Nós trabalhamos com uma equipe mais leve, e as condições do gramado prejudicaram os jogadores mais leves, como o Victor e Yann. No segundo tempo, conseguimos corrigir isso com as entradas do Renato, Augusto e do Perotti – analisou Claudinei.

– Estou satisfeito, são três vitórias seguidas, mas vamos tentar mais, não é fácil, mas vamos tentar sempre buscar o melhor.
